“To me, Tanzania isn’t just a destination on a map it’s my home, full of breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and wildlife that takes my breath away every single day. My passion is opening our doors to the world and ensuring you leave as family.”
— Zawadi Mwambe, Founder & Managing Director
Born and raised in Tanzania, I started Mvambe Tours & Safaris out of a deep love for travel, nature, and human connection. Growing up surrounded by the rich history of Dar es Salaam, the spice-scented breezes of Zanzibar, and the legendary wildlife tracks of our national parks, I realized early on that travel shouldn’t feel like a rigid, factory-line package. It should feel personal, flexible, and deeply moving.
When I established Mvambe Tours, I built it on three foundational values: unwavering honesty, authentic local hospitality, and uncompromising value for money. Whether you are a solo traveler taking your very first leap across the world, a couple celebrating a lifelong milestone, or a family sharing an educational adventure with your children, I take full personal responsibility for making your dream a reality.
Over the years, I have worked tirelessly to cultivate strong relationships across Tanzania’s key travel hubs from our main office in Dar es Salaam to our regional operational bases in Arusha and Zanzibar. These direct local roots allow me to eliminate middleman markups and give you high-quality experiences at price points that actually make sense.
Here is what I personally guarantee whenever you book with us:
No two travelers are alike. If you want a fast-paced day trip to Mikumi via the modern SGR speed train, a private multi-day camping safari in the Serengeti, or a quiet retreat on Pemba or Mafia Island, I listen to your preferences and build an itinerary around your rhythm.
From the moment you send your first inquiry to the second you board your flight home, I remain directly accessible. I personally monitor airport transfers, park permissions, and lodge check-ins so you never have to worry about logistics.
Transparency is everything to me. I lay out every cost upfront from park fees and driver allowances to meals and accommodation so you know exactly what your investment covers.
While I oversee every itinerary, a great journey requires an exceptional team on the ground. I have handpicked local professionals across Tanzania who share my vision and high standards:
My guides are the true stars of the safari. Born in local communities, they possess an incredible instinct for wildlife behavior, eagle-eyed tracking skills, and formal wilderness training in safety and first aid. More than just drivers, they are passionate storytellers who love sharing local folklore, bird species, and conservation history in fluent English and Swahili.
Behind every smooth game drive or island transfer is my back-office crew. Operating round-the-clock across Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar, they ensure our pop-roof 4×4 safari vehicles are fully serviced, equipment is clean, and permits are cleared well before you arrive.
I believe tourism should benefit the communities we visit. Across our cultural village tours, spice farm visits, and boat excursions, I partner directly with local families, fishermen, and Maasai hosts who welcome you into their daily lives with true Tanzanian warmth (Karibu Sana!).
Nothing brings me more joy than reading reviews from guests who arrived as strangers and left with tears of happiness in their eyes. Seeing a guest spot their first lion pride in the Ngorongoro Crater, step onto the powdery sand of Prison Island, or conquer a mountain trail makes every late night of planning worth it.
Tanzania is waiting to tell you its story. Let me help you write your chapter
